From the Relaxed and Forward blog by Anna Blake. Audio version for subscribers, thank you.
The Gray Mare Podcast is created and sent to subscribing members twice a week. Thank you for supporting my writing. I appreciate your comments and ideas. Please share with friends and consider subscribing.
I'm an advocate, author, dog companion, old-school feminist, and unabashed lover of sunsets. An affirmative horse trainer with no YouTube videos of bucking broncs. I write humorous, heartfelt parables about animals, life, and the Fine Art of Aging Cantankerously.
I refer to women of a certain age as Gray Mares. They have a decent amount of self-confidence, along with a practical knowledge of how things should run. Blind obedience isn't even on a mare's list of possibles. She takes herself seriously, a concept frequently lost on geldings. And has a great sense of humor, also lost on geldings.
Every Friday since 2010, I have posted an essay on the Relaxed and Forward Blog. The blog got its name because I consider it a proper state of being for horses and humans. My books include two memoirs, two poetry books, and three creative nonfiction books. Check out my books at all online booksellers or signed copies on my website.
Find me at annablake.com, relaxedandforward.com, or right here on Substack. Beware the gray mare.
